Our Story
A Note From Claire
My Desire for More
When I became pregnant with our first child, I began reflecting on the kind of example I wanted to set for our children. I felt a desire to take my faith more seriously and to learn more about the virtues.
As I came to understand modesty as an act of charity, I felt inspired to dress in a way that honored God and showed greater consideration for others.
I began searching for beautifully modest clothing for every occasion—daily wear, formal events, exercise, and swimming. As a mom, it was important that my clothing could accommodate pregnancy and nursing—and, of course, have pockets!
But what I found fell short in either quality, comfort, or coverage. Most modest dresses were made from synthetic fabrics like polyester and nylon, which felt uncomfortable against my skin and lacked breathability, leaving me hot and sweaty.
It was much easier to dress modestly when wearing breathable, natural fabrics like cotton—but the quality was often disappointing. Many cotton dresses I tried were thin, see-through, prone to pilling, and quickly looked worn out.
Plenty of beautiful dresses labeled as modest were long enough, yet still revealed much of the chest, back, or shoulders.
I realized I wasn’t alone in the struggle to find high-quality clothing that didn’t compromise on modesty, comfort, function, or style.
Idea Sparked
One day, I jokingly told my husband that I should just start my own clothing company. Much to my surprise, he looked at me and said, “You should!”
The idea seemed crazy while raising young children at home and having no idea how to start a business. The thought of what it would entail was overwhelming at first, but I knew it was worth praying about.
The Turning Point
As the days passed, what began as a far-fetched idea grew into a real conviction. My desire to comfortably dress in a way that pleased God turned into a passion to help others do the same. I felt increasingly inspired to not just offer clothing, but to also create a blog that encourages a love for virtue and a deeper relationship with God.
With my husband’s incredible support—and his ability to build and manage the website—I decided to take the leap. Determined to bring this vision to life, I began learning everything I could about fabrics, clothing design, manufacturers, production, marketing, and running a small business.
This journey continues to have countless moments of joy and excitement, but is certainly a labor of love: full of challenges, steep learning curves, and many moments of doubt.
However, by God’s grace, I’ve experienced firsthand how He can work through even the smallest offerings when we place them in His hands. Each step continues to deepen my trust in Him and strengthen my conviction that it will all be worth it.
